A Beautiful Struggle (Beautiful #1)
by Lilliana Anderson
Katrina is starting a new job as a librarian at a law office. She meets Elliot. “I don’t know how else to describe him except to say that he was beautiful”. All the girls in the office drool after Elliot and Katrina is no exception. Elliot doesn't date anyone in the office and there is a strict no office dating policy. Katrina is best friends with David and she trains for triathlons. They are both studying at the same University. This is a quick read and as someone who has experience working in an office, I was enjoying all the office politics, cattiness and infighting going on in this book. It came across as very authentic for me. Though I have never worked in an office where they serve alcoholic drinks every Friday in the conference room. Katrina's mother is pushing her to start dating boys again. Katrina recently was living with her ex-boyfriend Christopher, who in a fit of jealousy over David beat her up and put her in the hospital. Things start heating up between Katrina and Elliot. “I circled my legs around his waist, clinging to him and kissing him like I was an addict, and he was my drug, not giving a thought to where we were.” This book is a fun, erotic read and I really liked the characters. The story immediately drew my interest. My favorite line is: “Get some sleep Trina, I promise I will still love you in the morning and then every morning after that.” So romantic. Sigh. 5 stars.
